Scaffold exercises skill

Scaffold exercises is part of Matt Pocock's engineering skills. Its job is to create course exercise folders with problems, solutions and explainers that pass lint. It loads on its own when a request matches its description, and you can also call it by name.

When the agent reaches for it

The agent keeps every installed skill's description in view and loads the full instructions when a request matches. This is the description it reads:

Create exercise directory structures with sections, problems, solutions, and explainers that pass linting. Use when user wants to scaffold exercises, create exercise stubs, or set up a new course section.

What the instructions cover

The sections of its SKILL.md, in order.

  • Directory naming
  • Exercise variants
  • Required files
  • Workflow
  • Lint rules summary
  • Moving/renaming exercises
  • Example: stubbing from a plan

What ships with it

Besides SKILL.md, the folder carries these. The agent opens them only when a step in the instructions calls for one.
