Using git worktrees skill

Using git worktrees is part of Superpowers, Jesse Vincent's development method. Its job is to make sure feature work runs in an isolated workspace with a clean test baseline. It loads on its own when a request matches its description, and you can also call it by name.

When the agent reaches for it

The agent keeps every installed skill's description in view and loads the full instructions when a request matches. This is the description it reads:

Use when starting feature work that needs isolation from current workspace or before executing implementation plans - ensures an isolated workspace exists via native tools or git worktree fallback

What the instructions cover

The sections of its SKILL.md, in order.

  • Overview
  • Step 0: Detect Existing Isolation
  • Step 1: Create Isolated Workspace
  • Step 2: Project Setup
  • Step 3: Verify Clean Baseline
  • Quick Reference
