Algorithmic art skill

Algorithmic art is part of Anthropic's skills repository. Its job is to generate original p5.js art with seeded randomness and interactive parameters. It loads on its own when a request matches its description, and you can also call it by name. It bundles Node.js scripts that the instructions call for.

When the agent reaches for it

The agent keeps every installed skill's description in view and loads the full instructions when a request matches. This is the description it reads:

Creating algorithmic art using p5.js with seeded randomness and interactive parameter exploration. Use this when users request creating art using code, generative art, algorithmic art, flow fields, or particle systems. Create original algorithmic art rather than copying existing artists' work to avoid copyright violations.

What the instructions cover

The sections of its SKILL.md, in order.

  • ALGORITHMIC PHILOSOPHY CREATION
  • DEDUCING THE CONCEPTUAL SEED
  • P5.JS IMPLEMENTATION
  • INTERACTIVE ARTIFACT CREATION
  • VARIATIONS & EXPLORATION
  • THE CREATIVE PROCESS
  • RESOURCES

What ships with it

Besides SKILL.md, the folder carries these. The agent opens them only when a step in the instructions calls for one.
