terminal
claude mcp add --scope user --transport http sentry https://mcp.sentry.dev/mcp

What it does

Sentry MCP gives an agent the evidence around an error: issues, events, traces and the information needed to connect a failure to a fix.

  • Find Sentry issues for a project.
  • Read event and trace details.
  • Search for the error behind a report.
  • Pass project, issue and time-range filters explicitly.
  • Keep Sentry authorization in the connection.

Questions people ask

Does Sentry MCP need an auth token?

Not in Longwave. Longwave uses Sentry sign-in.

  1. Click Add to Longwave on this page.
  2. Sign in to Sentry when Longwave asks.
  3. Start a thread and pick a harness.
How do I use Sentry MCP with Claude Code?

Claude Code can inspect Sentry issues through Longwave.

  1. Click Add to Longwave on this page.
  2. Sign in to Sentry when Longwave asks.
  3. Start a thread and pick Claude Code.

  1. Click Add to Longwave on this page.
  2. Sign in to Sentry when Longwave asks.
  3. Start a thread and pick Cursor.

Can I paste a Sentry issue URL and get a fix?

Yes. Sentry can bring issue evidence into the open repository.

  1. Paste the Sentry issue URL or ID.
  2. Ask the agent to fetch the stack trace, breadcrumbs, and traces.
  3. Review the evidence before you ask it to change code.
What is Seer in Sentry MCP?

Seer is Sentry's root-cause analysis.

  1. Open or paste a Sentry issue.
  2. Ask the agent to run Seer on the issue.
  3. Review the suggested cause with the raw event.
Does this work with self-hosted Sentry?

Yes. Longwave can use a self-hosted Sentry MCP endpoint through a custom Marketplace connection. This catalog entry uses the hosted Sentry MCP endpoint . A self-hosted Sentry deployment needs its own endpoint and may not provide Seer.

  1. Start the self-hosted Sentry MCP endpoint.
  2. Open Marketplace and click Add.
  3. Paste the endpoint URL and complete the setup.
  4. Start a thread and ask the agent to inspect an issue.
Does Sentry MCP replace installing the Sentry SDK?

Use both. The Sentry SDK sends events, and Sentry MCP reads those events so the agent can investigate them.

  1. Install and configure the Sentry SDK in the application.
  2. Deploy the application and send an event.
  3. Connect Sentry MCP in Longwave.
  4. Give the agent the issue URL and ask it to investigate.
Does Sentry MCP open a GitHub pull request?

Yes. Connect Sentry and GitHub in Longwave, then the agent can use Sentry evidence while it changes the repository and opens a pull request.

  1. Add Sentry and GitHub to Longwave.
  2. Sign in to both providers.
  3. Paste the Sentry issue URL into a thread.
  4. Ask the agent to investigate the issue, change the code, and open a pull request.
  5. Review the pull request before merging it.
What is the difference between Sentry MCP and Datadog MCP?

Sentry is application errors, stack traces, and traces for a fix. Datadog is infrastructure and product analytics. Use Sentry when you have a crash in this repo.

Give the agent the stack trace and the evidence.

Move from an error report to a likely fix without copying Sentry data into chat.
