Code review skill

Code review is part of Matt Pocock's engineering skills. Its job is to review changes since a fixed point against your coding standards and the original spec, in parallel. It loads on its own when a request matches its description, and you can also call it by name.

When the agent reaches for it

The agent keeps every installed skill's description in view and loads the full instructions when a request matches. This is the description it reads:

Review the changes since a fixed point (commit, branch, tag, or merge-base) along two axes: Standards (does the code follow this repo's documented coding standards?) and Spec (does the code match what the originating issue/spec asked for?). Runs both reviews in parallel sub-agents and reports them side by side. Use when the user wants to review a branch, a PR, work-in-progress changes, or asks to "review since X".

What the instructions cover

The sections of its SKILL.md, in order.

  • Process
  • Why two axes

What ships with it

Besides SKILL.md, the folder carries these. The agent opens them only when a step in the instructions calls for one.
