Claude Code

Run this in your terminal. It adds a user-scoped server; use --scope project instead if it should apply only to the current project.

download_figma_images Download SVG and PNG images used in a Figma file based on the IDs of image or icon nodes

Arguments

fileKey required
string The key of the Figma file containing the images
localPath required
string The absolute path to the directory where images are stored in the project. If the directory does not exist, it will be created. The format of this path should respect the directory format of the operating system you are running on. Don't use any special character escaping in the path name either.
nodes required
array The nodes to fetch as images
pngScale
number Export scale for PNG images. Optional, defaults to 2 if not specified. Affects PNG images only. Default: 2
get_figma_data Get comprehensive Figma file data including layout, content, visuals, and component information

Arguments

depth
number OPTIONAL. Do NOT use unless explicitly requested by the user. Controls how many levels deep to traverse the node tree.
fileKey required
string The key of the Figma file to fetch, often found in a provided URL like figma.com/(file|design)/<fileKey>/...
nodeId
string The ID of the node to fetch, often found as URL parameter node-id=<nodeId>, always use if provided. Use format '1234:5678' or 'I5666:180910;1:10515;1:10336' for multiple nodes.

Does Figma MCP need an API key?

Yes. Figma MCP uses a personal access token.

How do I generate a Figma personal access token?

A Figma personal access token connects Figma to Longwave.

  1. Follow the Figma token instructions .
  2. Open Figma and open your account menu.
  3. Select Settings, then Security.
  4. Select Generate new token under Personal access tokens.
  5. Set a name and an expiration of up to 90 days.
  6. Enable File content Read and Dev resources Read.
  7. Generate the token and copy it immediately.
  8. Click Add to Longwave and paste the token.
How do I use Figma MCP with Claude Code?

Claude Code can read Figma frames through Longwave.

  2. Open Marketplace and click Add.
  3. Paste the server endpoint and complete the setup.
  4. Start a thread and ask the agent to change the document.
Does Figma MCP need a plugin or Dev Mode?

This Framelink listing needs a personal access token, not a Figma plugin or Dev Mode. Figma's official remote MCP uses OAuth and also works without the desktop app.
